In order to see progress, you must adhere to what you're doing to see long term succes. It starts and ends with our behaviors.
Drop the guilt, eliminate the self-sabotage, and separate emotions from data driven results.

"I wasn't making progress. Enter Holly.
I’ve known her from the gym for a few years and trusted her to get me where I wanted to be.
Right out of the gate she tells me I have to weigh food, I have to track food, and I have to weigh myself daily. (*Gulp* all triggers for me).

"I’ve struggled with being overweight my entire life. I’ve tried all the diets on my own, from the low-carb diet to the free macro calculator phone app. I’ve experienced limited success and a lot
of failures. I’ve long recognized that I’ve had an unhealthy relationship with food, and I’ve always wanted to change that, but still, I’ve approached every diet as a temporary change, knowing I’ll eventually just go back to my old (unhealthy) way of eating.
There was something very different though, about this process. First, meeting with a coach changed everything. "When I say Holly knows her stuff, she knows her stuff and so much more. After 4 weeks I needed to know what
was next because I didn’t want to stop, and I wanted to keep going. So, we extended our time together and I am happy to say we are at a year, and I am not finished. I have more goals and
more progress to make, and I know that Holly will always be cheering me on.
Not only did I change my nutrition, but I also changed my workouts and my mindset. I stepped away from my group fitness classes because I was finding myself comparing myself and my

"I signed up with HPC about a year ago around the holiday season as I knew I wanted some help creating better habits. I did not know really anything on macros, and Holly has taught me so much on nutrition and fitness.
I have been able to lose 25+ pounds so far, gain strength, and the knowledge to maintain my progress which has always been a struggle in the past. Our weekly check-ins are motivational and focus on averages versus one off day. I never really realized how important hydration, fiber intake, and the amount of macro intake affect my goals until working with Holly. "When I started with HPC, 730 days ago, I didn’t really know what I was going to get from it. I knew I would get personalized coaching and some tools to help me. I hoped to lose weight because that is what society has ALWAYS told me needs to be done. I hoped to lose inches because then maybe I would feel like I was the “right size” based on societal expectations. I hoped to lose self-doubt and the self-conscious feelings related to weight and size. I hoped that maybe this time, my "diet" would work.
I will tell you, I did lose all of those things but what I gained was SO MUCH MORE! I have always disliked the term “transformation” when you see before and after pictures online. I hate how even when working to improve your health, society expects you to transform from the “fat” person you were into the “skinny” person you are now. I prefer to think of it, not as a transformation, but as an advancement. I am no longer the same person I was merely 730 days ago, but I was not transformed into the person I am now by some magical creature. I worked HARD and put effort in DAILY on everything involved in the process.
I was able to achieve the scale goal fairly quickly (much faster than I ever expected in fact), but the REAL WORK started after that point. I needed to learn how to be this person. Given societal expectations, I always had a goal weight based on what I was told I should be. Once I was there, I realized, it is really just a number and has NO BEARING on how I felt as a woman. I still didn’t feel “skinny”, I still had self-doubt, I was still self-conscious about my body, I still lacked the confidence to really talk about what I was doing to lose weight. I knew in that moment, I had to work on myself emotionally and mentally as this doesn’t follow suit hand in hand with weight loss. There isn’t a magical number that makes you feel a certain way, it is YOU and society, who makes you feel a certain way."
